1.   Mattupetty Dam

You can reach Mattupetty dam by travelling 11 km from Munnar. There is a children's park and facilities for speed boating on the dam. Boating will provide glimpses of the wild animals that come to drink water from the dam. It is the main attraction during summer.

2.  Ripple Waterfalls, Sreenarayanapuram

If you travel 20 km from Munnar, you can reach Ripple Waterfalls. The main attraction of the falls is the large pool at the bottom. There are special docks and walkways built for visitors to enjoy the pool and the cascading waterfalls. There is also a facility to zip-line across the river.

3.  Botanical Garden, Munnar

Located at a distance of one kilometre from Devikulam Road from Munnar, the Botanical Garden is a beautiful place. The charming destination showcases a variety of flowers, a children's park, a watchtower and an amphitheatre for entertainment. It is the perfect place where you can unwind amidst the flowers and greenery.

4.  Hill View Park, Idukki

Hill View Park is a centre that can be reached by tourists who take the route via Thekkady to Munnar. Here, visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Idukki Dam. The park also offers facilities for adventure activities. There is a watchtower and walkway. Though the dam opens only at specific times, it is possible to enjoy its scale any time from Hill View Park. Moreover, facilities are in place by the forest department and hydel tourism department for boating.

5.  Ramakkalmedu

Ramakkalmedu is one of the main tourist centres in Idukki district. Travellers who take the Thekkady-Puliyanmala route can travel for 17 km from Puliyanmala to reach Ramakkalmedu. The main attractions are the Kuravan and Kurathi statues, the hornbill statue, the children's park and the never-ending wind that blows through the hills. It offers a panoramic view of Tamil Nadu from the hilltop and the windmills are added attractions. It is also possible to see the sunset during the summer.

6.   Aamappara

Aamappara is an adventure tourist centre located near Ramakkalmedu. A jeep is required to reach the centre as the journey to this place is not for the faint-hearted. There are arrangements made to help tourists walk safely once at the top of the hill. The view of the surrounding areas is the main attraction here. The summer season is the right time for this trip.

7.   Vagamon Mottakunnu

Vagamon Mottakunnu is one of the main tourist attractions in Idukki. Famous for its green meadows and rolling hills, the Vagamon Mottakunnu has adventure activities too. It has been developed as a tourist spot with facilities for travellers. If you travel 14 km on the Elappara-Vagamon road, you will reach Mottakunnu.

8.   Vagamon Adventure Park

If you travel 11km on Elappara-Vagamon road, you can reach Vagamon Adventure Park which is popular for paragliding. Adventure activities, boating, watchtower, trekking, etc., are available for tourists at the adventure park. The view of the vast hills and the steep valleys is breathtaking. The mist that passes by at times is another attraction. The view of the mountains in the distance during summer and the mist that comes in during the monsoons add to the beauty of the place.

9.  Panchalimedu

To reach Panchalimedu, travel 4 km from Murinjappuzha junction on the muddy road leading to Mundakkayam-Kuttikanam. The main attractions are the rolling hills, the billowing winds and the mist. There are gardens, restrooms, kiosks and resting places. The place is known for its serene beauty which is unaffected by the scorching summer sun and the misty monsoon season.

10.  Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls, Anakkara

If you travel 4 km from Anakkara on the Thekkady-Munnar Road, you will reach the Aruvikkuzhi waterfalls. One can enjoy the scenic beauty of Tamil Nadu from this location. The place has a beautiful garden, walkways and an arch bridge.
